Biological utilization of post-gas tar and coal tar
Treatment of industrial sludge commissioned by a bio-remediation company
Coal tar is a thick black liquid which is a by-product of the production of coal gas and coke (fuel). It contains benzene, naphthalene, phenols, aniline, and many other organic chemicals. Coal tar is used for medical and industrial purposes. However, coal is also known as cutar, balnetar, liquor carbonis detergens, liquor picis carbonis, etc.
Coal gas is a mixture of gases i.e. hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide and volatile hydrocarbons procured by the destructive distillation of coal. It is a flammable gas and is made from coal which is supplied via a piped system and is obtained from coal in the absence of air and contains nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
For this project we cleaned coal tar sludge using QCE5 Spore Technology®.
The process of utilization consisted of:
collecting of sludge in a tank with closed circuit
applying QCE5® hydrocarbon preparation to the sludge via the action of water streams
Below are the results of the analysis made before and after treatment with QCE5® hydrocarbon.
Petroleum hydrocarbons - Mineral oil total (C12-C35)
Petroleum hydrocarbons - Mineral oil total (C6-C12)
VOC - Volatile Organic Compounds

100% non-toxic probiotic water treatment. The QCE5 Spore Technology® formula is based on enzymes and microbes. It cleans water by breaking down mineral oil, grease and carbon into water and carbon dioxide.
It is effective at low temperatures (up to 45°̊C) and is suitable for single or continuous use in water treatment to absorb incidents or to increase the effectiveness of your water treatment. It also prevents blockages in drains and pipes and will have a positive effect on your COD values. This cleaner does not corrode and is safe for humans and nature.

Add the product to the water tank, aeration system or pumping station.
Begin with a start-up dose of between 500-1000 ml per 1000 litre (total volume of the tank). This dose is used once to treat the entire water system.
After cultivation during maintenance stage, dosage 100ml to 0.1 ml per 1000L of passing water.
Ensure sufficient oxygen is present in the system and keep at least 60% of the tank filled to maintain a base value.
Store in a cool, dark place sealed in original container.
Do not mix or allow it to come into contact with chemical as this may reduce the efficiency of the product.
